Façade
The façade is the face of the building. It holds the attention of the observer and shapes the outer appearance. Architects and builders have the opportunity to deliver their message when they design a façade. Glazed photovoltaic facades are increasingly being introduced as architectural design features. Solar facades enrich the architect’s design repertoire. They visibly promote the use of solar energy and mirror the builder’s ecological conscience. In addition, transparent PV facades establish a relationship to the outside world and create appealing lighting effects inside the building. The replacement of conventional façade elements with modules or collectors is also of interest from an economic perspective, because the solar systems not only deliver solar energy, but also fulfill the functions required of a building shell. In this way, for example, a photovoltaic façade can replace expensive stone slabs or stainless steel elements and create prestige value as one result. |
