The Renewable Energy Sources Act (EEG) makes it possible: The use of photovoltaics for energy generation not only protects the environment, but also financially benefits plant operators and investors. Whether a photovoltaic system is installed atop a residential rooftop or an investment is made in a large solar park - for every kilowatt of produced energy that is supplied to the public grid, the plant operator and investors receive compulsory compensation for their supply over a period of 20 years as regulated by the EEG. The network operators are bound by the EEG to collect and compensate for the energy produced.
